One of my favorite things to do is to browse a friend's DVD collection or to invite a friend to share one of her favorite movies with a discussion group. For me, one of the joys of movies is not movies themselves but the way we can learn about each other through them.

From 1997-2005, the purpose of this website was to provide an open forum for Christian writers to share their encounters with film, to reveal something about their journey as they learned about themselves, about life, and—through the mysterious power of art to speak about the unknown—about the God who gave life to us all. As the editor, I found great joy in the perspectives of our staff, providing insight from different genders, races, ages, nationalities, and denominations.

We were unique as film writers because our intent was not primarily to praise the artist or the art work, nor to analyze society and modern culture. We were here for one another, helping each other along the journey. We used film to connect to people, to God, and to our own souls—the only eternal things in this world—and greatly enriched our spiritual lives.

As you browse the nearly 700 archived articles on our site, I hope you you will be enriched as well.
