"Star Wars: Episode II": And there was much rejoicing
By Jeff Diaz | At 12:01 am Jonathan Border and I along with 11 friends and acquaintances
went dressed as Jedi to see Star Wars: Episode II. After all the obsequious
cheering ended, the movie actually began and a joyous time was had by all.
Episode II follows 10 years after the events of I and centers on the
Republic's attempt to save itself from dissolution by the use of a clone
army to defeat a pack of rebels. Weaved within is the budding romance
between Senator Amidala and Anakin Skywalker and his ensuing trip to the
Dark Side.
Packed with nods to the original trilogy, action-packed battles, and a
rather thought-out plot line, this movie shines in comparison to Episode I.
While developing well-known characters and establishing the path that would
lead us to Episode IV and following, this movie meets or exceeds
expectations.
Now many of the intellegetia and their rivals the cultureless rednecks are
in agreement that this film is heavily flawed...the first for reasons of
dialogue or because the film was too popular by nature...the second because
there isn't enough action and a person must posess a brain in order to
appreciate this movie. But to the normal person who still posesses the
abilty to like a movie because of a good plot, good action, and stunning
effects, get out there and be impressed.
